A powerful, elusive and endangered species, the snow leopard is said to be the most beautiful of the "big cats." For centuries, the snow leopard (panthera uncia) has been held sacred by many eastern cultures. Its grace and quiet strength at the top of the food chain, as well as its ability to thrive in cold and harsh environments, has made it a symbol of power and natural beauty.
