SELECTED SUB-GALLERY: January 19, 2001 - EDSA RALLY
I went over to the EDSA PEOPLE's POWER RALLY. If you've been following Philippine news, the people of this land got sick and tired of their corrupt President, Mr. Estrada, taking off to the streets to protest for his resignation. EDSA is the main highway that cuts through Metro Manila. Estimates say over a million people gathered along the highway. Schools suspended classes, offices shut down, and everyone took to the streets. I went over with my friends from school to join in the fun. I stayed there until 2AM! It was more like a huge party than a political protest. Philippine democracy is cool.
